I’ve been competing in all kinds of sports since I was a kid. Throughout my time in high school, I focused on soccer and track, and my college years were all soccer, flag-football, and recreational running. After college, it’s been about everything I could get into. I continued to run and I loved to ride my bike wherever I could. And then, I found my calling- Triathlon.
It all started with a dare. A friend challenged me to sign up for a Sprint Triathlon he was planning on doing. And in this particular race, the Swim took place in a lake! I literally laughed out loud, but quickly realized that he was serious. I could Run, but the other sports, Swimming and Cycling? Sure, I rode my bike around town, but never raced one, and I wasn’t even sure if I could make it across a pool without stopping to take a break. How far was I going to have to go? I dismissed the idea and went about my day. But the dare kept coming back to my mind. My competitive side eventually won out, and I accepted his challenge. “Now what do I do?”
Fast forward the present day, and I have competed in more Triathlons than I can remember, everything from Sprint distances up to Ironman. During the late fall and winter, I transition to Trail Running, which keeps me motivated and strong. And by doing so, I avoid the ever possible “burn-out.” I’ve competed in trail races of all different distances including a few 50 milers, and I absolutely love them all.
As your Coach, I cannot wait to help you realize your potential in Running, Swimming, or Cycling. Whether it be training for your next race, challenging yourself to a new distance, or figuring out how to get out the door for the first time. Don’t be shy, everyone starts somewhere!
My goal is to help you become the best version of yourself, so let’s get started. And as my friend said, “I dare you!”
